The New Era University (NEU) announced today the official adoption of the book Applied Statistics (A Step-By-Step Approach Using SPSS) as a textbook and reference material for statistics and research-related subjects. Authored by Brother Julian J. Meimban III and Ms. Jachelle Anne D. Terrago, the book is a testament to NEU’s commitment to enhancing academic excellence and providing essential tools for effective teaching and learning.
Published by the NEU Press & Publications Office, the book offers practical and easy-to-follow guidance on using SPSS software for statistical analysis. It aims to improve students’ and faculty members’ ability to apply statistical methods effectively, making it a vital resource for both classroom instruction and independent research activities.
The University has tasked college deans, branch directors, and integrated school principals to oversee its integration into courses that involve statistics and research. Faculty members are encouraged to use the book as a primary or supplementary resource in their teaching, incorporating its methodologies into lessons, activities, and assignments to enhance students’ analytical skills. Research coordinators have also been asked to promote the book during workshops and training sessions and to recommend its use for theses, dissertations, and other academic outputs.
To learn more about the book’s features and applications, the NEU community is invited to visit the University Research Center (URC) website at https://neuresearchcenter.com/books/. This initiative aligns with NEU’s ongoing mission to empower its academic community with high-quality resources and to support excellence in research and education.
For any inquiries or assistance related to the book’s implementation, faculty and staff may contact the University Research Center at urc@neu.edu.ph.
